About
Contemporary realism inspires the artist to create colorful and highly textured canvases. The process of painting is not that you simply copy the subject, but reinvent it in a new medium. The biggest challenge is the multilayering of colors and textures. The final result is a dynamic composition that is colorful with heavily textured focal points. I enjoy painting simply because beauty is being created on a blank canvas.
I attended the University of Alberta for seven years and the University of Seville for one year. I have taught art for thirty years in Junior and Senior High School. I have taken many art courses through the Department of Extension at the U of A. In later years I have studied oil painting under Gene Prokop a well renowned Alberta artist. My continuing attendance at workshops, art shows and art society meetings enhance my interests and keep me aware of current art trends.
